Before starting a challenge, journey, or pursuing any personal goal, I’d suggest writing a list of why you want to complete it. If you don’t have a clear reason for setting a goal, chances are you’ll end up quitting weeks in. Sound familiar? These reasons have to be more than simply “I want to lose weight” or “I want to stop eating fast food”. Grab a pen and paper, Sit down, and Think.
Ask yourself this question: Why do you want it? Your answers will become your motivators. Keep them!
Do you want to be able to run around more with your kids? Do you want to stop feeling sluggish and out of energy? Do you want to be able to move around quicker? Do you want to set an example for someone else? Do you want to fit in the old jeans that have been stalking you from your closet? Do you just want to prove to yourself that you can do it?
As a car key is to keeping a vehicle running, your motivation keys are to keeping you on track. Your keys are the driving force to both get you started and keep you going. Without your motivation keys, all you have is a vision of where you want to go. With your motivation keys, you can apply action.
Get Motivated. Stay Motivated. Be a Motivation to Others.
